Grand Durmaz Hotel

Went 2021 Christmas time with family of 16 and stayed for roughly a week. Customer service was average.. The people at the desk were polite but also had a slight attitude to them like they didn’t want to be there. When we had issues with our room or wanted extra towels, soaps etc they sent a young worker who looked in his 20s, did not like his attitude and posture. He looked tired and was apparently doing us favour by running around, even though that’s his job. Food was fine and the workers that served the food compensated for the workers at the lobby. They were really sweet, kind and loved talking/playing with the kids. Location is beautiful and convenient for walking to Sultan Ahmet camii and Grand Bazaar. Hotel was right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Istanbul like it was something straight out of a James Bond movie which was so cool. The balcony view was awesome. Ordered 4 rooms in total for family of 16: 3 triple rooms and 1 deluxe suite Deluxe suite had a bath literally in the bedroom which was weird but I guess their design was initially for romantic couples. The triple rooms had electricity problems especially with the lights going on and off so we called to fix that more than three times. We even had to fix it ourselves by using the circuit board in the hallway floor because we got tired of asking. The rooms also had lock issues with the bathrooms, they didn’t lock properly or we’d end up getting locked inside😭. The design and setting of the rooms overall was very comfy and nice especially with the balcony view, absolutely gorgeous.

Bad experience Zero safety in rooms Bad reception staff House keeping thieves The bad story start with them on first day in hotel my son was need to wash his feet in the bathroom sink but not was installed, and the child slides and his head was badly wounded when they seen the child no one help me to first aid him , iam a new arrival to country (first day) but alhmdulla House keeping stole us two times our mum wallet and my sister wallet but any tourist usual no need any headache Reception staff need more experience to can deal with customer because alto of problems and complaints they very aggressive Any way very bad experience I not advise this hotel and not come back again
